I understand how public education is structured and I know that good leadership is essential. I came on the school board shortly after Cali began her tenure. I was there because I wanted to ensure our district had the kind of leadership it deserved. I was prepared to be critical. Cali impressed me from the start with her warm and charming demeanor. I soon learned that behind that winning smile was a store of knowledge, meaningful experience and a desire to serve the children and the community at large. Cali is a problem solver, her superpower is her ability to see the whole institution, the big picture, and find the way to make it work for the people it serves.
